The TIP42C is a base island technology PNP power transistor in TO-220 plastic package. There are four different types of transistors in this series which include TIP42, TIP42C, TIP42B and TIP42A. Their differences lie in their voltage. TIP42C has the highest load voltage among these transistors. The TIP42C can be used in general switching and amplification applications. The complementary NPN type is TIP41C.
