MS5540C Digital Pressure & Temperature Sensor

The MS5540C is a high-precision SMD-hybrid device that integrates a piezoresistive pressure sensor with a 16-bit ADC interface. This versatile module measures absolute pressure in both air and water, while simultaneously providing accurate temperature readings. It features a metal protection cap filled with silicone gel, enabling it to function in direct contact with water, oil, and other fluids. Its robust design is qualified to ISO Standard 2281, making it capable of withstanding depths up to 100 meters in salt water, which is ideal for snorkeling, diving, and ROV applications.

  Contact Isolation: For underwater use, you must isolate all metal contacts (e.g., using melted wax), leaving only the white gel sensor surface exposed.

  Gel Protection: Do not touch or press the gel surface with fingers or hard objects, as mechanical damage can trap air and cause unstable signals.

  Maintenance: If used in salt water, rinse the sensor with clean water to prevent hard salt particles from drying on the gel surface.
